Miguel de Icaza, co-creator of the Gnome desktop and lead for the Mono Open Source .NET environment, will talk about efforts to create an compatible Linux browser plugin compatible Microsoft’s new Silverlight web platform.

Silverlight is a competitor to Adobe’s Flash that relies heavily on open data formats and APIs like XML and the DOM.
