This presentation is a case study featuring the Financial Accounting Foundation, Financial Accounting Standards Board. The project is codification (US GAAP) The entire solution was implemented in about 4 months with a small but entirely remote international team. It is a real showcase for XML in practice. It is using: XML, DITA, DocBook, XSL, AJAX, Oracle XDB and Workflow as the integration hub, automation tool, and process manager. The system is the entirely DITA based standardization platform for the new (to be) authoritative codified US-GAAP. The presentation will show how this system is being utilized for finalizing the codification and enabling an internal review process for the created codification. In 2008 the system will be opened to the public for a general Codification review. From 2009 on, the data will become the authoritative source for the US-GAAP.
