By leveraging XML, Office2007 promises to make the most widely adopted formats for business content, transparent and portable across systems. Nearly a year since its initial release, best practices are beginning to emerge for querying, manipulating, and rendering this content with the technologies designed for XML that have been in development for the past decade. In this presentation, Mark Logic’s Kelly Stirman will introduce Office Open XML (OOXML) and will share common OOXML use cases, which include reusing content across Microsoft Office applications and synthesizing Microsoft Office and external content in new documents. He will also discuss major hurdles users encounter in working with OOXML and workarounds to address those challenges. Stirman will complete this presentation with a live demonstration.
